Tradjenta helps control high blood glucose levels for adults with Type 2 Diabetes by increasing incretin production especially after meals. Incretin increses the body’s insulin production to lower blood sugar levels. Tradjenta is available under the generic name Linagliptin.
Tradjenta is taken orally as often as prescibed by the doctor, usually once a day with or without meals. The dosage takes into consideration the body’s glucose level, reception to the treatment, and other medications that one might be taking.
Take the Tradjenta at the same time everyday with water. In the case of missing out on a dose, take it as soon as remembered unless close to the next scheduled dose. Otherwise, skip the missed dose and continue the regular dosing schedule. Avoid double dosing or making up for missed doses as the body has to get used to the consistent regulation of the blood glucose levels. The drug must be swallowed whole— do not break or chew tablet.
